   Hi srijani: I’d recommend 2 things. 1) Get familiar with good design by looking through inspiration books, magazines, web sites, etc. 2) Go through online tutorials for Photoshop (and whatever other software you may use). That way you are learning about good design, plus getting better at your technical skills.

   Getting involved in some type of site, like Flickr, where you can post work and get feedback from others is also super helpful.
