Word: Ephesians
A couple notes before we get to the Word...
- If you remember, I didn't post a new Word design last week because I was at WMCfest, a design fest in Cleveland. It was an awesome time with great speakers and my mind is still swimming with ideas. The folks behind WMCfest will be posting video of all the talks and when they do, I'll make sure to mention it here.
- A couple days ago, I noticed that my Facebook page was getting near 300 "likes." I decided that once I hit 300 I'd give away a couple free prints to celebrate. I hit number 300 yesterday and picked the winners. Congrats to Mike in Minneapolis and Adam in Missouri! They'll each receive a 16x20 Word print of their choice!
Time for the Word...
What if I asked "What if?"
One of the first things I do when starting a Word design is to ask "What if" questions. What if 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 was displayed as an info graphic? What if the story of John the Baptist being beheaded was a kid's handout? What if battle of David and Goliath was portrayed as a old boxing poster? For Ephesians, I asked "What if the seal of the Holy Spirit was literally a seal?" (From there I just had to rule out this seal, this loose seal and this seal before I landed on the concept you see above.)
Holy Spirit Tattoo
Paul talks about how once you believe the "word of truth" you are somehow sealed with the Holy Spirit who acts as some type of deposit. Since I don't have a theonerd background, I won't bother trying to figure out exactly what that means, but in general, it sounds like God marks us. Almost like a Holy Spiriti tattoo. Like he's saying "Here's something to identify you as someone who follows me and help you live out a Kingdom life." If any theonerds out there want to explain this idea in more depth, please feel free to leave a comment!
Tattoo for you?
I'm not really a tattoo kinda guy myself, but if anyone would want this design as a tattoo, drop me a message and I can hook you up with the artwork.
